This is to report to you the success of the visit to the
Maritime Archive on Saturday (22 August 2009). Although the
attendance was not very impressive (20 members from 7 families),
the fun was no less. The Archive was really interesting and
very informative; the members of different age groups enjoyed
it in their own way. Apparently the most interesting point was
the album on Uttam Kumar, who was an employee of the Port.
Due to some labour problem, the Millenium Park was closed; but
that
didn't spoil the mood as there were plenty of food-stalls with
favourite snacks items. The joy-ride on the state ferry to and
from
Howrah Station was the ultimate. As the return journey turned
out
to be exclusively for the Atmaja members, we all marked that
ride
as the highlight of the day!
